Before you print, open each step on their phone and check it matches. Phones and settings differ.

How it works

  1. Pick their phone: an iPhone without a Home button, an iPhone with a round Home button, a Samsung Galaxy or another Android phone.
  2. Add the person who helps and the people they call most. Call and video call cards are made for the first three, by name.
  3. Choose the cards: answering, hanging up, calling, video calls, messages, photos, volume, getting back to the start screen, an emergency call and a scam check.
  4. Check each card on their phone, then print two large cards or one extra-large card per page on US Letter or A4, or save a PDF.

Frequently asked questions

Is it free?

Yes. There is no sign-up, no watermark and no paid tier. Make and print as many cards as you like.

Are the names and phone numbers uploaded?

No. The cards are built in this browser and printed with your browser's own print window. Your draft is kept in this browser so you can come back to it. The site counts anonymous events, such as a print, with the phone type and number of cards only. There are no cookies.

Which phones are covered?

iPhones with Face ID or Touch ID, Samsung Galaxy phones and other Android phones such as Pixel or Motorola, with their default settings. Phones differ by model, carrier and update, so try every step on their phone before you print. If a step does not match, tell us below and we will fix the card.

How big is the text?

With two cards per page, steps print at about 18 point and titles at about 29 point. With one card per page, steps print at about 26 point. A card with very long names steps down one size so nothing is cut off. Print at 100% scale so the size stays the same.

Can I change the words on a card?

You choose which cards to print, whose phone it is, the helper name and number, the people they call and the emergency number. The steps themselves are fixed so they stay short and tested. Write on the printed card if your parent says a step differently.

Does this replace Assistive Access or Easy mode?

No, it works alongside them. Assistive Access on iPhone and Easy mode on Samsung make the screen simpler. They do not explain what to tap. These cards cover the default screens; if you turned those modes on, check that each step still matches.

Are you affiliated with Apple, Samsung or Google?

No. The cards describe their phones in plain words. iPhone and FaceTime are trademarks of Apple Inc.
